Chemistry Race 2024

West London Partnerships schools are invited to enter a team in the Chemistry Race taking place at St Paul’s Girls’ School on Wednesday 26th June 4.15 – 7.00pm.

The Chemistry Race follows the same format of competition started by the University of Cambridge in 2020. Teams of 3-5 sixth-form students race against each other to solve challenging chemistry problems. The team with the most points at the end of the time limit wins!

Teams of 3-5 Year 12 students can sign up by either scanning the QR code on the poster and completing the registration form or by clicking the link to the Microsoft Form below:

Sign up here!

Multiple teams from one school are permitted. The competition is aimed at Year 12 students (although Year 13 leavers and/or Year 11 students are welcome).
Note: participating teams do not need teacher permission to sign up. Teachers are welcome to attend the event but are not required to accompany a team.
The deadline for signing up is Wednesday 12 June.
Although we do not anticipate reaching max capacity, places in the competition will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Therefore, we encourage teams to sign up as soon as possible. We will inform all schools by email if we are likely to reach max capacity before the deadline.
If you wish to withdraw your entry, please email Tom Fox, the competition organiser, at [email protected]
If you are a teacher and you wish to be involved in writing and contributing questions to the competition, please do get in contact!

Schools can share the below poster and information sheet with students and teachers.
