Law Society Lecture: Leslie Thomas KC

Professor Leslie Thomas KC is an award-winning human rights barrister specialising in claims against the police, public authorities and corporate bodies. As a leading figure responsible for defending civil liberties, he has been involved in notable cases including the Grenfell Tower inquiry and the legacy cases involving the Provisional IRA. He also works tirelessly to fight racism in the legal system, sitting on the Bar’s Race Equality Taskforce and acting as Chair of the Equality Diversity and Inclusion sub-committee for the Inner Temple. His life and work are candidly chronicled in his autobiography, ‘Do Right and Fear No One’ – a must read for any aspiring lawyer – which offers an insight into his journey and his involvement in some of the biggest inquests in the past thirty years.
